There’s a new way to do things online and top-level domains (TLDs) .New is behind it. Google is the registrar of domain names.New domain. You may have seen it used with various Google apps.
Who gets the .new domain?
Anyone can register a .new domain, but there are conditions unique to the TLD world.

- To register a .new domain, it must be used to initiate an action in the flow or create content.
- It must draw the user immediately into the creative action.
- It must be available to the public within 100 days of domain registration.
- Google must be allowed to verify the action of a free domain for Google. That means, if it’s a membership process, then Google doesn’t have to pay for the membership just to test it.
Some of the biggest names on the Internet have mined their domains and put them to use.

.New Worth It?
It’s too new to tell. At $550 per domain, it’s worthy of the big names, but for a single website owner, it might not. Right now, it looks like .new domains are being used to simply redirect to features that already exist and are fairly easy to access.
Until 2020, when really creative people can get their hands on this field, we don’t know what can really be done with it.
