How to connect your Windows laptop to a mobile hotspot

Mobile hotspot allows your phone to act like a router, sharing your data connection (your mobile data plan or whatever Wi-Fi network it is connected to) with other devices. With this function, you can always connect to the Internet on your laptop even if your main Internet is disconnected for some reason.

Remember that using a wireless hotspot drains your phone’s battery, uses your mobile data much faster, and exposes you to malicious actors if you’re not careful.

The first step is to start up the mobile hotspot connection so your laptop can detect it.

To share your mobile hotspot on Android:

1. Open Setting application.
2. Option Connection.

3. Scroll down and tap Mobile hotspot and tethering.

4. Convert on Mobile Hotspot Setting.

5. Clap Mobile Hotspot to view and change your password.

The final way to connect your laptop to a portable hotspot is to enable Bluetooth tethering. This is possible on both iOS and Android phones.

To enable Bluetooth tethering on Android:

3. Clap Mobile hotspot and tethering.
4. Clap Bluetooth tethering.

To turn on Bluetooth tethering on iPhone:

1. Open Setting.
2. Clap Bluetooth.

3. Turn on Bluetooth and select your laptop from the list of devices to connect to.

To connect your Windows PC to a Bluetooth hotspot:

1. Click up arrow at the bottom right of your taskbar to see the icon tray.
2. Right click on Bluetooth icon and click Show bluetooth device.

3. Click Add Bluetooth or other device.

4. Option Bluetooth.

5. Select your phone from the list.

6. When you click on your phone, you will receive a pairing request. Confirm that the password is identical on your phone and laptop, then click Pair on your phone.

7. Click Link on your laptop.
